چکیده

We investigate the phase diagram of the Heisenberg antiferromagnet on the square lattice with two different nearest-neighbor bonds J and J ′ (J-J ′ model) at zero temperature. The model exhibits a quantum phase transition at a critical value J ′ c > J between a semi-classically ordered Néel and a magnetically disordered quantum paramagnetic phase of valence-bond type, which is driven by local singlet formation on J ′ bonds. We study the influence of spin quantum number s on this phase transition by means of a variational mean-field approach, the coupled cluster method, and the Lanczos exact-diagonalization technique. We present evidence that the critical value J ′ c increases with growing s according to J ′ c ∝ s(s + 1). Influence of the spin quantum number on zero-temperature phase transition 2

Magnetic Properties in a Spin-1 Random Transverse Ising Model on Square Lattice

In this paper we investigate the effect of a random transverse field, distributed according to a trimodal distribution, on the phase diagram and magnetic properties of a two-dimensional lattice (square with z=4),  ferromagnetic Ising system consisting of magnetic atoms with spin-1. This study is done using the effectivefield theory (EFT) with correlations method. The equations are derived using...

Quantum phases and fluctuations in correlated electron systems with frustration and competing interactions are reviewed. In the localized moment case the S=1/2 J1 - J2 - model on a square lattice exhibits a rich phase diagram with magnetic as well as exotic hidden order phases due to the interplay of frustration and quantum fluctuations. Their signature in magnetocaloric quantities and the hig...

Influence of Ising - anisotropy on the zero - temperature phase transition in the square lattice spin - 1 2 J − J ′ model

We use a variational mean-field like approach, the coupled cluster method (CCM) and exact diagonalization to investigate the ground-state order-disorder transition for the square lattice spin-half XXZ model with two different nearest-neighbor couplings J and J ′. Increasing J ′ > J the model shows in the isotropic Heisenberg limit a second-order transition from semi-classical Néel order to a qu...

ادغام الگوی شبکه‌ای هولشتاین - کاندو برای توصیف نظریه ابررساناهای دمای بالا

It is a common knowledge that the formation of electron pairs is a necessary ingredient of any theoretical work describing superconductivity. Thus, finding the mechanism of the formation of the electron pairs is of utmost importance. There are some experiments on high transition temperature superconductors which support the electron-phonon (e-ph) interactions as the pairing mechanism (ARPES),...

مقدمه‌ای بر سیستمهای اسپینی کوانتمی

This manuscript is the collection of lectures given in the summer school on strongly correlated electron systems held at Isfahan university of technology, June 2007. A short overview on quantum magnetism and spin systems is presented. The numerical exact diagonalization (Lanczos) alghorithm is explained in a pedagogical ground. This is a method to get some ground state properties on finite clus...
